$44B is moving toward creators. The measurement layer is still weak.

The market is growing, but the most valuable negotiation advantage may be proving outcomes—not adding another zero to reach.

Benchmarks are directional. The source definitions and limits are part of the finding, not fine print.

The market signal

IAB projects U.S. creator advertising spend to reach $44 billion in 2026, after $37 billion in 2025. It also reports that 48% of creator ad buyers consider creators a must-buy channel.

Growth does not automatically improve creator leverage. IAB names measurement, standards, and operational tools as major opportunity areas, and says identifying the right creators remains brands’ top challenge.

The part to use

A creator who can explain audience fit and connect a sponsorship to an observable business outcome has a different negotiation position from one who only supplies follower counts.

For the next proposal, separate the deliverable price from usage rights, exclusivity, production complexity, and measurement. Then state what the sponsor will be able to observe: clicks, qualified visits, code redemptions, signups, or another agreed outcome. Do not promise sales you cannot attribute.
